I'm running a small advertising campaign for this site in the hopes it will bring people to my music, apps, and writing. Through Google Ads, I should see some return on investment for my work. I'm using Facebook and Google for this campaign, running a short video ad with Google and Facebook feed ads. I'm still working on this video ad, but it should be ready today so hopefully, I will start seeing results soon.

Running a successful marketing campaign can be difficult, especially without experience, but it's not impossible. The main tip I would say is helpful for digital marketers is to keep the ads targeted. Targeted ads lead to a higher conversion rate when they are set up correctly. I target the ads for my websites to users who are interested in electronic music, puzzle games, and online communities. I hope that this will bring people to this community and my work here can encourage people to post their own content as well.

It's pretty easy to get set up with an account on Uglek, just hit the join button in the upper righthand corner of the site (tap the hamburger if you're using a mobile device) and fill out a simple form. I'm aiming for ease of use and simplicity for this site, that's the main idea.

User Acquisition Strategy for Independent Website Creators

Users are the foundation of Uglek, and many other media and content websites across the internet. Uglek has a simple user acquisition strategy: Be canonical. Its posts have a tendency to show up in search engines because they are well indexed and the site is SEO optimized. Below is a graphic of Ugleks users over the last seven days. As you can see, the site is getting between 3 and 7 organic search users per day. That means people are seeing Uglek posts in search results, just the way I intended with the site. And it only gets better. I only have about 30 500+ word posts on the site so far, and adding about 20 more should easily double the users I get from organic search. With a diversity of content, I will build this website into a portfolio of my work and gain new users and listeners from organic search traffic.

To clarify, organic search traffic is when someone clicks a google search listing, enters the site, and interacts with it. I get organic search traffic by registering my site to Google Search Console and submitting my sitemap URL into the search. I have done this for Bing and Yahoo too, as ranking in searches is important. It's probably the easiest way to get users if you have the technical know-how. All it requires is some SEO optimizations and good content with keywords that are relevant. Keywords should also be not too dense, and in a specific niche that doesn't have too much competition.

Other users on Uglek found the site through social media or even another site, though the site doesn't gain very many users from these sources yet. I'm not sure how to encourage people to post here, I suppose it will be easier when there are more users and more content on here. For now, I want to focus on building up the content and growing my user base. Hopefully, I will be able to create a successful business out of this site, or at least gain some followers and users. When it is safe to do so, I want to start busking again and try to promote this site and my other one as well as my music too. In the past, that has been a great way of making money and gaining a following easily.

Eventually, when I have enough content, I will use paid advertising such as Google, Facebook, and Instagram ads to promote this site. These ads often lead to high retention users, and I could build a user base for this site using paid advertising. I want to make this site into a social community of the internet so I need to find users when I have enough content to monetize the site. I'm not going to pay to advertise the site just yet though. For now, I'm going to focus on growing slowly from organic searches and making music as well as improving the user experience of this site. I think it's already gotten a lot better, and it can only get better from here. Thanks for sticking with me so far.

Digital Marketing for Independent Creators

Digital marketing can be a challenge for the up and coming independent creator. Whether you're trying to market your content to a large audience and make money from it, encourage users to make their own content and distribute it through your software, or you run any other sort of website, digital marketing is a challenge to execute properly.

This is because so many of the major companies in the digital marketing area take a lot of the revenue from publishers and advertisers. Companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter charge significant amounts, starting at $0.01 per click, to market goods and services. Additionally, digital micro-transactions like music streams and ad views only pay fractions of a cent. This makes it a challenge to make money from the major revenue streams where a lot of people are making money.

Despite many of the large digital marketing seeing little profits for Independent musicians such as myself, smaller digital marketing agencies can often help. I use a site called StreamingFamous.com to promote my music, a relatively small company based in London. This company provides listeners for my music at an affordable price which allows me to grow. They can provide them at a good speed too, almost 200,000 streams per week. This also leads to revenue from my website, because users go from my spotify profile to the website and see more content.

While it is a good idea to look to smaller companies for help in digital marketing, the larger services to have their place as well. They come at an economy of scale: With 100 page views a week I might make 13 cents, but that might cost me 50 cents in advertising with Google Ads to achieve. However, if I can get enough pages and enough page views on this site (really engaged users), I could make $1.30 per week for the same investment. This doesn't seem like a lot, but as I get more users interacting with this site and using it, I should be able to make real money from the site.

In conclusion, digital marketing is a challenging yet achievable task for an upcoming independent creator. It's important to know where to look for services and help, and it's especially important to know when to use them. I'm holding off on advertising this site until I have more content, because I want users to be able to spend time on the site and see what sort of stuff is here before they post on their own. Having seed content is important.
